本教材的教學內容共十二個單元,每個單元由示范對話、學生對話、單項訓練、短文、視頻欣賞和錄音練習六個部分組成。第一部分的示范對話是每個單元的核心,它在內容上前后承接,主要圍繞美國商人馬庫斯到中國購買辦公家具、洽談作為湯普森南京公司北美代理這一主要情節展開,內容涉及付款、包裝、運輸、理賠、仲裁與合同簽署等外貿洽談中的重要環節。每個單元的第二至六部分,一方面鞏固課文中學習的內容、詞匯、句式與表達法,另一方面適當介紹制造業、旅游業、時尚業、廣告、餐飲、媒體、動畫制作等多種商業活動的內容及常用的英語詞匯。
